Recipe: Crumb Cake

Ingredients
  • CRUMB TOPPING:
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup cinnamon
  • 4 sticks room-temp butter
  • TO MAKE THE CAKE:
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tsps. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions/Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spray 14 1/2 in. round baking pan
  3. First make the crumb topping by putting the flour, sugar, cinnamon, and butter in a bowl.
  4. mix with your hands until the ingredients are crumbled. SET OFF TO SIDE
  5. TO MAKE THE CAKE:
  6. Cream butter in a large bowl. Gradually add sugar, creaming until light ad fluffy.
  7. Sift in flour with the baking powder and salt.
  8. Add the eggs one at a time.
  9. Slowly add in milk ad flavoring until all is blended. Pour into sprayed pan.
  10. Bake the cake for 10 min.
  11. Take cake out, spread the crumb topping all over the half-baked cake.
  12. Once the cake is completely covered with crumb topping, put it back to bake for about 20 min or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  13. Let cake cool
